A Legacy Brand at a Crossroads
Robert Half, a 75-year-old industry giant, faced the challenge of evolving its identity to resonate in the digital-first era while respecting a long-standing legacy. As the company embarked on a bold brand transformation, the task was clear – refresh a trusted brand to be modern, relevant, and consistent across global markets.
Redefining Visual Identity with Deep Purpose
Joining the brand development team as Art Director, my first focus was a strategic overhaul of the visual system. We redefined the color palette using color psychology to balance heritage with fresh contemporary energy. Fonts were modernized, the logo distilled into a sleek lettermark, and foundational elements set for a cohesive new identity. This wasn’t just a design refresh—it was a story of evolution driven by insight and intention.
Becoming the Visual Lead for a Global Digital Experience
Simultaneously, I stepped into the cross-functional website renovation team as the visual lead. My role expanded beyond art direction—I oversaw every visual element, including photography and illustration, shaping a new global digital presence. Midway, we developed global photography guidelines and built a culturally tailored library of licensed images accessible to teams across 19 regions. This centralized visual asset management ensured consistent brand experiences worldwide.
Navigating Challenges with Leadership and Agility
Despite leadership transitions and organizational shifts, the project maintained momentum. Over a year and a half, we delivered a fully transformed digital experience on time and without roadblocks. This period honed my project management skills and deepened my understanding of collaborative creative leadership in complex environments.
Extending Brand Impact beyond Digital
Beyond the website, I led the redesign of the employee recognition program’s identity, affecting over 10,000 users worldwide. New design systems were crafted for awards including Excellence Awards, Leadership Awards, Everyday Hero, and RHight On! —strengthening internal culture through thoughtful, engaging design.
I also spearheaded integrated campaigns across emails, internet banners, paid ads, videos, and motion design, ensuring consistent brand storytelling across all platforms.
Results: A Brand Reinvented
Through this transformation, Robert Half evolved into a modern, digitally driven brand respected worldwide. The new identity and visual systems enhanced brand consistency, global alignment, and employee engagement. The experience enriched my expertise in brand strategy, global creative leadership, and project execution—key assets for driving future brand innovations.
